91ÇÑ×Ó is pleased to welcome Lyndsey Pederson as chief of staff, a new position for the college.
Pederson comes to 91ÇÑ×Ó from Hillsboro High School, where she served as an instructional facilitator for four years, collaborating with staff and assisting teachers in aligning instruction and student work as well as spearheading professional development and monitoring state accountability measures for the school.
Prior to her time at Hillsboro High School, she was the principal at Bynum Independent School District in Bynum, Texas, for seven years. There she worked with teachers to improve STAAR scores, implemented an early literacy program, assisted with budgets and grants, helped create the district’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA), was involved in the hiring and evaluation of teachers, among other tasks.
In this new position, Pederson will work closely with 91ÇÑ×Ó President Dr. Thomas Mills to advance institutional priorities and pursue institutional excellence in alignment with the college’s mission and goals. She will play a central role in coordinating and supporting strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration across departments, and serving as a key liaison between the Office of the President and faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
In addition to her professional background, Pederson is also heavily involved in the community. She is a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, the Hill County A&M Club, both the Hillsboro and Abbott Ag and Athletic Booster Clubs, the Sesame Club, and the Hill County Gamma Delta Chapter.
She holds multiple educator certifications from the state, including vocational agriculture production, principal, science, special education, and diagnostician.
“I am honored to serve 91ÇÑ×Ó in the role of chief of staff. Having strong ties to the 91ÇÑ×Ó area, I am excited to bring my background in K–12 education to this role. I look forward to helping grow our local community college through professional development, strengthening community relations, and working alongside our team on the Institutional Planning and Execution process. Together, we will continue promoting our vision of becoming a beacon of excellence,” said Pederson.
Pederson holds a Bachelor of Science in agricultural science from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and has a Master of Education in educational administration from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. She also completed an Educational Diagnostician Certification Program from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in 2020.
“We are absolutely elated to have Lyndsey Pederson join our executive team! She comes to us as a highly regarded educator and Hill County community member. Every person I have spoken to about her both before and after her hire has expressed positive remarks regarding both the quality of her work and character,” said Dr. Mills.
